Cleaning your keyboard for a reason

With intensive use, a keyboard quickly becomes dirty.  And this is certainly the case when eating and drinking near a computer. The keyboard is even the dirtiest part of a computer. Simple cleaning of a keyboard

To make the keyboard a little cleaner quickly, we first turn the keyboard over and shake it so that all loose dirt is removed. Cleaning the keys can be done with a damp cleaning cloth with disinfectant detergent.

Cleaning a keyboard with compressed air

Compressed air can be used to blow air between the keys so that the dirt also disappears in places where you cannot reach. The sides of the keys can be cleaned with a cotton swab soaked in alcohol. There is also special clay to remove all dirt from between the keys when cleaning the keyboard.

Cleaning Keyboard Components

If you have a little more time when you go to clean a keyboard, you can screw the keyboard apart. You can also loosen the keys with a screwdriver and clean each one separately. The keys can then be soaked in hot water and detergent and brushed clean with a brush. The other half is cleaned with a damp cloth because no moisture should run into the keyboard.  Only when everything is thoroughly dry can you put the keyboard back together.

Thoroughly cleaning a keyboard 

If you really want to clean thoroughly, you can also put the keys in a laundry bag in the washing machine and clean the rest with a vacuum cleaner. This way you can really completely clean your keyboard. 

Keyboard cleaning on a laptop

On a laptop, it is not easy to remove the keys to clean the keyboard. Usually it is sufficient to blow these clean when you go to clean the keyboard. This can be done with a spray can of compressed air that blows away all the dirt.

To clean the keys themselves, use a cleaning agent for keyboards. Never use wet because there is a risk of it running into the keyboard. Anti-static wipes also lend themselves perfectly to removing all dust.
